As the year comes to a close I wanted to take the time to say thankyou to each of you who have supported me this year.
I also wanted to let you know what I've been up to the back end of the year.
In September, I took a trip to Nashville. I love this city so much! This was my fourth time visiting but the first time as an artist. I was lucky enough to meet some incredible people and do some co writes. I also got to sing at a showcase which was amazing.
I celebrated my birthday during the trip and thanks to an amazing friend of Luke's, we spent it on a Lake and eating lots of cake!(I swear the rhyme was unintentional!)
As you know from my previous post, I was lucky enough this year to be the Ambassador for Firestone's 'Road To The Main Stage' competition. It has been a huge honour to be involved in this amazing competition giving grassroots artists' the chance to take the next step in their careers. To be an ambassador for UK Country Music has also been a privilege. The competition was full of talented artists and finally drew to a close last month at the live final in London. John Nicholas was crowned the winner after a mesmerising performance. He is now on his way to take the next big step on his Road to The Main Stage! I'm excited to see what comes next both from him and from this outstanding competition.
November also saw me release my new single 'Drive'. I am so proud of this song. It's about getting away with your loved one and taking in the journey. The response has been overwhelming seeing the song gain radio play on Chris Country and The Front Porch, lovely reviews and playlist spots on Spotify. Throughout the year I have been lucky enough to be nominated for various awards. I took home the Yorkshire Roots Awards 'Outstanding Songwriting' award in September and on the 24th of November, I was honoured to take home the British CMA Awards for 'Female Vocalist of The Year' and 'Best Song' for Boom Tick written with the wonderful Sue McMillan . The evening was fantastic with performances from so many talented artists I was lucky enough to perform alongside. Thank you to everyone who nominated me and voted for me, it means so much!
I've played some incredible shows these past few months. From supporting Jess and The Bandits, performing on the Yamaha Stage at BBC Introducing live, 'In The Round' at Nashville Sounds and selling out my show at Terrington Village Hall. Thanks to everyone who came out to support me.
My final gig of 2018 will be at The Eagle Inn in Salford on 20th December alongside Ags Connolly and Lars Pluto. Tickets are still on sale so grab yours now!
Finally, thank you all so much for your support. It means so much to me to have you come out to shows, buy my music ad just spread the word. I hope to see you again next year and to keep giving you music you enjoy. I will be kicking off 2019 with a tour of Australia in partnership with Buckle and Boots Festival alongside some amazing artists and friends.
